MP3 to sheet music — automatic piano transcription

Short answer: Open Piano: Soloist in your browser, choose Load score → Recording, and pick an MP3, WAV or M4A (or a phone video). The piano part is transcribed automatically and opens as a playable score with falling notes; you can download it as MIDI. It's free for 3 recordings a day (1 fast), up to 8 minutes each, with no account.

Upload a solo piano recording and get a playable score: the notes, dynamics and sustain pedal are transcribed automatically, beats and bars are detected, and the result opens with falling notes and a highlighted score. You can also download it as MIDI.

How it works

  1. Open the app — the Load score window opens with Recording selected.
  2. Pick your recording (MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC) or a phone video (MP4, MOV). Drag and drop works too.
  3. Start the conversion — it takes about half the length of the piece, and less with [Fast conversion].
  4. Play it with falling notes, slow it down, loop bars — or download the MIDI and edit it in MuseScore.

FAQ

Is MP3 to sheet music conversion free?
Yes. You can convert 3 recordings a day for free, with no account (1 of them fast). Pro-Lite raises it to 5 a day and Pro to 20.
What is Fast conversion?
It transcribes on a GPU, so it finishes sooner. For a 3:34 song, standard conversion takes about 1 min 50 s and fast conversion about 1 min. The result is the same.
What happens to my recording?
It is sent to our conversion server only for the conversion and deleted right after. Nothing is stored.
How accurate is it?
It uses Transkun, a piano transcription model that scores about 98% note accuracy on the standard MAESTRO piano benchmark. Clean solo piano recordings work best.
Can I edit the result?
Yes — download the MIDI and open it in MuseScore (free) or any notation app, then upload the fixed score again.
